Annual Pajama Drive

*THE 2020 & 2021 DRIVES HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED*
In an effort to support social distancing measures, the annual pajama drive has been suspended. Counties are asked to keep the pajamas they have gathered.

Each year, the Office of Victim Advocate and Pennsylvania Children & Youth Administrators – along with thoughtful citizens like you – organize a pajama donation drive for foster children across the commonwealth.

Many times, children are removed in the middle of the night and placed into foster care with little or no clothing. Foster families often are unsure what age or size a child arriving into their homes will be, so it is difficult to plan ahead.

This April, during Child Abuse Prevention Month, consider offering some warm and cozy comfort to a child while they endure a difficult time. There are two ways to help: donate new pajamas or become a collection site in your area.

Donate New Pajamas

Pajamas will be distributed to Children and Youth agencies across the state in June.

New pajamas, for all sizes and genders, will be gratefully accepted until May 8, 2020.
          • The average age of a foster child in Pennsylvania is 10 years old.
          • There are slightly more boys, than girls, in foster care.
          • Pajamas for ages infant to 21 years are needed.

You can drop off your donations at a collection site across the state.
*This list will continue to be updated.

Office of Victim Advocate staff will be available to accept pajama donations at the Crime Victims' Rights Rally at the Capitol Rotunda on April 20 from 11 am to 12 noon.

You can mail your pajama donations directly to
Office of Victim Advocate  |  1101 S. Front Street, Suite 5200  |  Harrisburg, PA 17104

Become a Collection Site

If you are a Children and Youth agency, you will keep all of the pajamas you collect.

If you are a partner agency, you can deliver your pajamas directly to your local Children and Youth agency, mail them to the Office of Victim Advocate, or arrange for OVA staff to pick them up from you.

If your county is in need of pajamas, but you are unable to collect them, your pajamas will be distributed to you at the 2020 PCYA Conference in June.

We ask that you sort them, by size, as they arrive so that they can be distributed to counties quickly.

Please ensure that you email us with a total number at the end of the donation period (May 15).

Ready to sign up?

• Email the registration form to rebressler@pa.gov to sign up.
• Use this flyer to advertise the pajama drive at your location.
• You may use these sizing signs to help keep your pajamas sorted, if that is useful to you.

The deadline to have all pajamas collected at your location is May 15. Please coordinate with OVA to provide a tally of the total number collected, as well as coordinating final distribution within your county.
